Watch out fractions . . . Here we come!

I think we are all very excited about beginning a new math chapter. We just finished measurement, and it was a challenge for all of us (even me)! However, I must say that they did very well on their tests - YEAH!

Now let's talk fractions! I am thrilled to share a new website with the students. It is called virtual manipulatives. On Monday, we will learn about fractions using "Parts of a Whole." On Tuesday, we will name fractions. On Wednesday, we will "visualize" fractions. Finally, we will visit Illuminations (click tools) and make equivalent fractions.

These sites are excellent learning tools! I hope that the students have as much fun as home as we have had in the classroom!
